In a small town, you kind of know – or know of- everyone. You either love it or hate it.
I kind of love it.
I’ve never been a big city person, so I love the community and close-knit benefits of living in a small town.
Because of that, I’ve “known” Jessica and Scott for several years now. When I stopped by as a complete stranger several years ago and asked a favor, they were more than accommodating- and since then we have been in touch off and on, so when Jessica asked if I would be available to do pictures for their family, I was excited to get to spend some more time with them in person!
We had a wonderful time with them- they are fun and easy going and just a joy to be around. Their children are the picture of manners and happiness!
This year their kids are starting homeschooling, and I am super excited for them! As I was taking pictures, especially of Constance and her mama, all I could think was how much they are both going to love the time that they have together. For Constance to be able to learn from her mother, to draw closer to her, and enjoy time together is such a precious thing.
She will forever be able to look back and say, I learned that from my mama. Years down the road, when she has a home and family of her own, when someone asks her where she learned to do that particular thing, she will only have to say one word.
“Mama.”
And the same for the boys. They get to learn from school, yes, but they also get to learn from their father- learn how to work, learn how play, and learn how to treat others with respect.
Those are things that come with the territory of learning at home that are missed in a public setting sometimes.
Also: PE/Animal Husbandry/Business Management all in one class while working at the ranch? Yes, please!
So, Scott & Jessica and family- we hope you have a great time this year, y’all! Will there be challenges? Yes. Will there be times where you wonder what in the world you are doing? Probably. Will you ever regret this decision to spend more time with your kids and teach them at home? Absolutely not. We hope you have a great winter and can look back on these with a smile on your face! We had a great time with you- here we a few of our favorites! 🙂
