Congratulations to Jami!
She will be graduating in the spring from Wolf Point High School! Woohoo!
Jami’s mom was on the ball and reached out to me earlier in the spring about scheduling Jami’s senior session for the fall. We wanted some fall color and foliage, so we agreed to keep in touch and make a date later in the year after we seen how the summer progressed and when the leaves would turn.
We touched base several times over the summer, comparing schedules and making sure what days we should keep open as fall approached.
So, sometime in early August, I checked the 30 day weather forecast, seen when the temperatures were cooling, and I reached out to Jami’s mom about booking a date. I provided a couple options that I had open on my calendar. I even filled Jami’s name in on both dates to ensure that she would have a session for her fall senior photos.
They chose the earlier option, and a sunrise session at 6:30 AM.
I deleted the wrong one.
So here I am, planning on a date two weeks later for Jami’s senior session. Denton and I were lining out our plans, what sessions we had on what dates, and what we would need to get done before and after them, all planned around a wrong date on my end.
Now, normally, I would never admit this, but, as everything turned out fine, it serves for a funny story in retrospect.
So, I’m sleeping pretty good around 6:15, right before my alarm normally goes off. Only, my phone got a text message.
I looked at it, and it was Alisha, verifying our meeting spot for 6:30.
What??
In my sleep dazed state, I stumble to my office, and check my messages, and sure enough, I seen where we had agreed on this date, two weeks earlier than what I thought. It was only then that I realized that I had deleted the wrong date on my calendar.
So, here they were, up, dressed, prepped and polished for a senior sunrise session, and I was snoozing…
So, I ran back in the bedroom, grabbed poor Denton by the chest and was like “WAKE UP! We have to go! We have to go NOW”
Denton bolts up in bed, his hair crazy and his eyes crazier with his heart beating out of his chest, telling me later that he really thought that someone had died. He jumps out of bed, asking me whats wrong and what we need to do, and when I tell him we have to go to the river for Jami’s session, I’m pretty sure that he thought I was sleep walking.
So, as he’s getting dressed, I remember literally walking in circles in the bedroom with my brain in an endless loop of “I need to get batteries for my camera, no, I need to get dressed, wait, I need to get cards for my camera, oh no, I have to do my hair, wait, I need to get dressed…” Honestly for probably a solid minute before Denton grabbed me and asked me what I was doing. Finally, I prepped my gear, got dressed (albeit, not with good taste), pinned my hair up and got in the car, and made it on location before the sun even thought about peeking it’s bright eyes over the horizon.
We actually still had to wait a few minutes for it to become light enough to start the session.
It is the first time that Denton and I have gotten ready to go and on location in 15 minutes! lol. And, I have to say, we had a pretty terrific session with Jami and got some wonderful pictures of this beautiful young lady!
So, Alisha and Jami, even though we told you that morning about our mix up, this is just a little behind the scenes of what really occurred that morning. Ha! Thank you for being so great!
We had a lot of favorites from this session- we hope that you find some as well! Enjoy!
