This was a wonderful family session that we got to do back in the spring.
We had an extremely busy summer, and we had a wonderful time photographing some amazing people and places- I just wasn’t as focused and on the ball as I needed to be with keeping my online presence up to date.
Does anyone else have those periods when time literally just slips away from you, and you look up and the summer is gone?
I will be updating everything in the days and weeks to come with what we were doing and where, but until then, I just had to get on here and share my favorite images from this session!
This was a special shoot for us, because, over ten years ago, Kathy took our wedding photos for us!
I’m going to reveal something here that we’ve never talked about. Thinking back now, I literally cringe when I think of us asking Kathy to take our wedding photos for us, because, do you know what we said?
Denton and I looked at each other and said: “Hey, I think Kathy has a nice camera and takes pictures. Do you want to ask her?”
Has a nice camera? Just takes pictures?
As if she had nothing to do with it. EEK. Full. Body. Twinges.
Now that we are on the other side of it, that’s the worst thing that you can say (Or think) to a photographer!
Like every bit of hard work that happens has everything to do with the camera, the lifeless piece of mechanical parts in your hand, and nothing to do with the person using it
Often, we don’t even think about the expense, the hours of education, the struggling, the tears and thoughts of giving up- and the vulnerability of putting yourself and your work out there for others to examine, judge, critique. Ahhh!
Kathy, we are so sorry!
We will always be grateful for the wonderful memories that we have of one of the most important days of our lives- and we were so honored to be able to capture memories for you and your family in this special time!
Even though Dominic is here now and we are a little behind, we couldn’t stop from sharing our favorites from your session! We can’t wait to meet him in person!
