We are so proud of Ian.
Denton and I are in this specific age range where we’re not quiet old enough to be his parents, but we’re not young enough to be his siblings… so we get the special distinction of being his friends.
This past year was a difficult one, as it has been for many young ones.
Before the pandemic hit, we were able to spend time together with Ian nearly every week, and then in March of 2020 that all dropped off- suddenly.
Then came the year of navigating the safety, social drama, pressure and various other issues that came along with this life that we’ve all lived.
I’m sure that there have been hard times that we don’t know about, and personal struggles that all young people have faced, but we are proud of Ian for coming out on the other side of all of that now!
Last year, Ian shared reservations about being able to finish his schooling, or finish it on time- and now look! It’s already over and done!
Ian has already set himself up for a successful future.
He has an interest in the bible, an easy-going, fun personality; he is a hard worker with a good work ethic, and is becoming a capable mechanic and just a well rounded young man.
Now that our own lives are slowing down a little bit and life may be getting back to normal, Denton and I are looking forward to being able to spend more time together with Ian again!
–Ian, we want you to know that we really are proud of you; and we are proud to be your friends.
As you continue progressing and maturing, life will not always be easy, in fact- it’s usually not. But it is the struggle and challenge that make life what it is. Just remember; it’s not the struggle or the challenge that defines you in the end- it’s how you REACT to those challenges that defines who you are.
So, continue putting Jehovah first, continue working hard and doing what you know is right, and you will have the best future that anyone can ask for!
We love you!
(P.S Okay, okay, you got more that a ‘couple’ good pics. These are just a FEW of the pictures that we loved- you have way more coming 🙂 )
