I’m so happy to be writing this today!
Denton and I photographed this family session the day before we left on a 18 day road trip to see our families and do some business. Usually my workflow is pretty spot on with a sneak peek, blog highlights, and gallery link, but this time I got a little behind with everything that is going on!
However, I knew that the pics we had gotten were going to be fantastic, and I was dying to be able to sit down and edit these, so once I started, I couldn’t wait to get this blog post out!
This was also a very fun session for me, because when Denton and I first decided to move to New York, I joined a Warwick Facebook Group and did a giveaway to start getting some shots in NY. Jessica commented on my post, and wondered why in the earth we were leaving Montana for New York and thought we had lost our minds, haha!
While that is still a possible reality, we chatted back and forth a bit and I could tell from our few brief messages that she was fun and I was looking forward to meeting her one day!
Fast forward to when I was actually running the drawing for the giveaway, and of all names, the wheel landed on Jessica and her family- we got to meet sooner than I thought!
We selected a location that Denton and I had not shot at before, so that was exciting to get to experiment with, but the best part was getting to spend that time with Steven, Jessica and their little girl! We literally felt like we met as strangers and left the session as friends. We’re looking forward to getting to know them more as we continue our stay in NY!
We were truly impressed with their interaction with one another, as well as their example as parents. We get to work with so many families, and see a little glimpse into their lives, but truly, one of my favorite things is to see when a sweet little one is well loved and well trained. In this world that we live in, it really does make my heart full, and I leave the session feeling built up and happy for that family and the safe haven that they are building for their little ones. That is exactly how we felt when we left Steven and Jessica’s session.
To see the life that they are building for their precious little girl, and in turn, the sweet, genuine love that she has for her mama and daddy is just the best thing in the world. Even though she was exhausted at the end of our session, she never fussed or cried the whole time- her only evidence of exhaustion was a blank stare by the end of the evening! She was such a trooper, and a wonderful testament to the love, training and time that her parents are investing into her. It’s just my favorite thing to see.
So, Steven and Jessica- here are some of the images from our session that day- I hope that they are worth the wait, and that you enjoy these memories for many years to come! Thank you so much for being so great and so much fun to work with, we will look forward to the next time that we see you!
