I don’t know why Denton and I get to be blessed with such wonderful couples, but all I can say is I’m so grateful!
We first started communicating with Brittany last year around this same time when she had just began looking for a photographer. Boy, am I glad that we made that connection! At that time, in 2021, we were in the middle of all of the uncertainties surrounding the pandemic, gatherings, wedding protocol, what to do and not do, etc. Jon and Brittany navigated all of that successfully and opted for a micro wedding to be as safe as they could with the planning process.
This is a great example of how a ‘micro wedding’ is in no way inferior to any other event! I’ll let you decide for yourselves as you browse the highlights below…
It’s been an unusually cool and wet spring here in eastern Montana, but the day of the wedding, it was supposed to be 100 degrees… of course. The day of the rehearsal, there were 40-50mph wind gusts, and we were scared for Jon + Brittany since this was an outdoor wedding, and all the preparations were happening on that day. However, the day of the ceremony dawned cool and lightly overcast, and it ended up being 15 degrees cooler than forecasted. Ahhh, Montana showed up for our bride and groom this weekend!
I have been trying to figure out what to write for this wedding, and there is so, so much that I could focus on, but I feel like the one recurring theme is what you’re going to see in the images below. The pure, raw emotion that permeated the day, casting a warm, golden glow over the whole event as Jon + Brittany truly start their life together. They’ve known each other since they met in high school as young teenagers, and it was lovely to see how time has not in any way dulled the love and respect that they have for each other.
The first look was at the high school, where they first met all of those years ago, and the symbolism of being able to have their first look, and exchange private vows, at that same place and have their journey come full circle was one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen.
Even though we were only able to hear snippets of the vows as we where desperately trying to capture that love and energy, not only was **I** crying as I was photographing this couple, but DENTON was struck with he emotion of the moment and was wiping away tears, as well!
What a beautiful day to be a part of and have the honor to document as these two began the next part of their journey together.
Brittany, I know that you were trying to hold back the tears, and didn’t want to cry all the day, but I hope, that in these images, you see the love and sincerity that I felt while I was there. It was such an honor to be invited into your life for this special day, and I hope that they memories that you have here will provide you with a lifetime of happiness as you look back on them and remember the beautiful start of your marriage to Jon. We love and admire you both, and we look forward to seeing what wonderful things are in store for you both and your families! Enjoy this highlight of your day!
